Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Automation Controls Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will design, implement, and maintain automation systems to optimize production processes and ensure operational efficiency. This role involves developing control systems, programming industrial equipment, troubleshooting technical issues, and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- System Design and Development:
- Design, program, and implement automation control systems using PLCs, HMIs, and SCADA systems.
- Develop electrical and control schematics using CAD software.
- Specify hardware and software for automation projects, ensuring compatibility and scalability.
- Programming and Integration:
- Write and test PLC and HMI code for manufacturing and industrial equipment.
- Integrate automation systems with other production and IT systems, such as ERP or MES platforms.
- Troubleshooting and Maintenance:
- Diagnose and resolve issues with control systems, including electrical, programming, and communication faults.
- Perform routine maintenance and updates on automation equipment to ensure reliability and efficiency.
- Collaboration and Documentation:
- Work closely with mechanical, electrical, and process engineers to implement control strategies.
- Prepare detailed documentation, including system specifications, operating instructions, and maintenance procedures.
- Compliance and Safety:
- Ensure all automation systems adhere to relevant safety and industry standards.
- Perform risk assessments and implement safeguarding measures for automated equipment.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience in automation, controls, and instrumentation engineering.
- Proficiency in programming PLCs (e.g., Siemens, Allen-Bradley, Mitsubishi), HMIs, and SCADA systems.
- Strong knowledge of industrial networks and communication protocols (e.g., Ethernet/IP, Modbus, Profibus).
- Hands-on experience with CAD tools for designing control systems.
- Familiarity with sensors, actuators, and robotics systems is a plus.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and project management abilities.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Knowledge of IoT and Industry 4.0 concepts.
- Certification in automation or controls engineering.
Work Environment:
- This position may involve working in industrial settings, including exposure to machinery and varying environmental conditions.
- Occasional travel may be required to support field installations and commissioning
